Here is a new text input technology being added to a touchscreen near you. It has been created by Cliff Kushler, the same person who created T9 technology. They just need to make it for the Palm Centro, and then it will be SUPER cool. What do you think?

Blogging Is For Sissies: Fine…Where Is My Pacifier? September 11, 2008

How does blogging make you feel when you get response from your readers? Call me an ole sap, but I couldn’t help but share the powerful emotional connection I have found from it. You might not have been blogging for an extremely long time or you might not even blog at all. That doesn’t mean you can’t find yourself getting choked up because you might have helped someone in some way by what you found, wrote, or said verbally.

My parents taught me very young that you get more from giving without asking for anything in return than any other way. That holds true from a personal or a business level. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve helped a friend do something that was important to them, and was blessed in return. Many people I’ve spoken to have voiced their opinion about blogging, and some have said it is too personal or they don’t want criminals stalking them. Blogging is as personal as you make it, and you are the moderator that has the last say. I recently found a post from a blogger who has gone through some tough times, yet he still gives without any avail. Blogging not only brings us closer to other people, but it also brings us closer to ourselves if you write from your heart.

My challenge to you is to give to someone today that is in need of help. That could be through your blog, helping a neighbor by setting the trash out by the road, or maybe something as simple as letting someone over while in traffic. If you are thinking about blogging, give it your all…you might be surprised at what comes back to you.

I Have GTD Syndrome and It’s Spreading Like a Wildfire: September 5, 2008

GTD sounds like a disease, and in some minds it is. GTD is a coined phrase “Getting Things Done” that was brought about by a gentleman by the name of David Allen. The phrase refers to a systematic process of management of time and productivity. It’s something I think we all need, especially me. I had mentioned in my journal I have a tendency to procrastinate sometimes, and I found a parallel with an article which talked about making excuses for things not getting done. I enjoyed reading the tone in his posts. I’ve been indirectly using some of the GTD process and didn’t know it. I am a folderholic with all of my paperwork and action items with projects. I have also been known to have a tickler file that I only put the next most important thing I’m supposed to be working on inside.

There are many productivity tools and blogs that relate to this process, and I’m surprised I haven’t heard about the process sooner. There are so many applications for your PC, phone, or PDA, to help you manage the chaos of being techy nut. In fact, one could be procrastinating on projects right now because they’re reading about cool ways to use Wikipedia, improving one’s RSS feed reading skills, etc. I can appreciate this methodology and I’m totally on board with using different tools to increase my productivity as a Web designer or anything I want to accomplish. Just what I need, a few more logs on the fire to burn. Except this fire can only help not distract.

Hello all,

I just wanted to share a new a release from Google. Today they released a new open source browser they call Chrome, which has a number of great new features including SPEED. Speed tests show the new browser to be far superior than IE7, Firefox, and others. Another cool feature I gathered is the separated processing for each tab you create. I have had a browser crash on me and lose not only page I was on, but all the other tabs too. Has that happened to you? Grrrr!

I’m going to download and check it out. Hopefully the DOM will not create more headaches for CSS. It probably won’t since the browser was from the Firefox base. We shall see. Enjoy.
